When you hear the name Angels of Assisi, who are we talking about? Who actually are the Angels? Are they the people who tirelessly work in the shelter & the clinic? Or maybe animals are fallen angels who are brought to health & into homes where they can radiate joy & love the way angels would. Maybe the angels are the volunteers who give their time to little souls needing comfort or donors who give the gift of possibility. Or perhaps the angels are the people who come to shelters, choosing to adopt a pet who needs a home which then provides an extra space for the next animal who needs a chance. What if Angels of Assisi refers to all of them? What if it’s all of us? We could be a City of Angels trying to bring goodness into our community & homes one adoption at a time. Come to the Berglund Center on Sunday, December 10th to witness a gathering of angels from all over the Roanoke area & our neighboring shelters for the City of Angels MEGA Adoptathon. Angels of Assisi is an independent, nonprofit animal welfare organization serving SW Virginia and West Virginia. Along with an Adoption Center & Farm Sanctuary, Angels of Assisi offers a Community Pet Hospital, Rural Veterinary Care, Cruelty Investigations, Disaster Response, and a Safety Net Program for those needing temporary help due to domestic violence or emergency situations.

The Randy Travis: More Life Tour features the legendary country singer and his co-star in The Price, James Dupré. The Country Music Hall of Fame member’s long-time touring band, consisting of Steve Hinson, David Johnson, Lance Dary, Bill Cook, Joe Van Dyke and Herb Shucher along with longtime tour manager Jeff Davis will rejoin “Hoss,” as they affectionately call Travis, on the road for the first time since right before his stroke in 2013.
The show will consist of Dupré and the band performing all 16 of his iconic number ones including “On The Other Hand,” “Forever and Ever, Amen” and “Three Wooden Crosses.” Randy Travis will make a special appearance and very much be a part of the show. A limited number of VIP tickets are available that include a premium seat in the first two rows, a show specific autographed 11x17 poster, and a meet and greet with the country icon, himself.
“We are incredibly excited to be back on the road and give Randy’s fans a chance to hear his music live again, and who better to sing his many hits than James Dupré?” said Mary and Randy Travis. Travis recently released Forever and Ever, Amen: A Memoir of Music, Faith and Braving the Storms of Life which has outpaced projections and has been featured on TODAY, the 700 Club, People Magazine, Billboard and more. The book is available at most online retailers as well as Barnes and Noble, Cracker Barrel, Books-a-Million and more. Always wanting to please his fans, the long-time Grand Ole Opry star also dropped two never-before heard singles this summer, “One in a Row” and “Lead Me Home.”

Honor our heroes at Military Night! Roanoke takes on Peoria in a special evening sponsored by Elbit and Sink's Septic & Drain Services with 94.9 Star Country. All active and retired military members can receive $10 tickets at the box office with valid ID. The team will wear specialty jerseys to honor those who served, which will be auctioned off.
